UDA Party which is associated with the second in command has been on a charm offensive especially in Mombasa as well Nyanza region. They are keen to ensure Raila Odinga is injured politically ahead of 2022 elections.
The mighty reception of the deputy president William Ruto in Kondele during the Madaraka day is one reason the deputy president William Ruto led UDA Party is planning on a massive registration of members from the region. The newly formed party is keen to ensure some parts of Nyanza join UDA Party ahead of 2022.

It's clear the deputy president William Ruto has dethroned Raila Odinga in several parts of the country a reason he is going the best he can to ensure he also weakens him politically especially in Nyanza region. All indications are that the second in command is ready and willing to meet Raila Odinga at the ballot come 2022.
If DP Ruto will manage to dethrone Raila Odinga in Nyanza region and Coast only time will tell. It's clear though that, he has already won a big way in Kondele and some parts of the coast region. This puts Raila Odinga chances of winning Presidency in 2022 in quagmire.
