Anne Waiguru Mourns The Passing Away of Former Gichugu MP

The Honourable Bernard Kathanga, a former Member of Parliament for the Gichugu seat, has died.

On Wednesday afternoon, Kirinyaga county governor Anne Mumbi Waiguru reported his death via her social media channels.

She has stated that his death has put her in tremendous sadness because he was close to her and was one of the Kirinyaga elders who fiercely supported her.

Apart from representing the people of Kirinyaga county in the National Assembly, he was an active participant and leader in several cooperative movements throughout the country.

She described him as devoted to his career and always willing to serve the country in any of the different positions he held.

"Throughout the years, Mzee has been committed to public service, culminating in receiving the Shujaa award from President Uhuru Kenyatta at last year's Mashujaas' celebration." https://t.co/rVXJL8aAKu

She says, " "Mzee Kathanga has been an avid supporter who has provided me with invaluable insights. During this trying time, my thoughts and prayers are with his entire family, his friends, and the people of Kirinyaga. Mzee Bernard Kathanga, have a good rest." Waiguru, Anne Mumbi.
