Deputy President Dr. William Samoei Ruto returned to his homeland of Uasin Gishu county where he solidified his base ahead of the upcoming August general elections. The United Democratic Alliance party leader attended a church service at Langas in Kapseret Constituency before addressing residents in a campaign rally.
While addressing residents, Kiharu Member of Parliament Hon Ndindi Nyoro lashed out at President Uhuru Kenyatta after he made a u-turn and decided to campaign for Raila Odinga despite earlier declaring that he will not be hitting the campaign trail.
The vocal tanga tanga MP urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to retire in peace and leave the Orange Democratic Movement party leader alone to hunt for votes. Ndindi Nyoro said that Uhuru will taint his legacy should he venture into politics.
Nyoro added that despite the age difference between him and Uhuru Kenyatta, he will not fear taking Uhuru head-on should he plunge himself into the field of politics. He urged Uasin Gishu residents to come out in large numbers and elect Ruto as the president in the upcoming polls.
Other leaders who accompanied DP Ruto includes Kapseret Member of Parliament Hon Oscar Sudi, Uasin Gishu Governor Hon Jackson Mandago, Bahati MP Hon Kimani Ngunchiri, and United Democratic Alliance party aspirants.
