"Cattle Rustling Will Stop Na Sio Tafadhali" Ruto Vows To Deal Firmly With Cattle Rustlers In Pokot

Suspected bandits in Turkana east killed 11 people in Turkana east. The 11 people killed are eight police officers, a chief and two civilians. Police spokesman Bruno Shiosho revealed that the victims were pursuing a heavily armed gang that had raided a village band made away with unknown number of animals before they were ambushed.

This is the first major attack to happen in the region since president William Ruto ascended to presidency. This comes after deputy president Rigathi Gachagua said that he would address the banditry menace that has plagued the region for long and crippled operations in some parts of rift valley.

President William Ruto has come guns blazing to those involved in cattle rustling. Taking to his verified twitter account president Ruto said that cattle rustling must stop whether people like it or not.

The president said that he received a comprehensive report on the Turkana incident that led to 10 security officers losing their lives, and he has instructed security agencies to deal firmly with those involved.
