With less than 12 months remaining before next year's general elections, the likes of Deputy President William Ruto have been moving around the country as he looks to popularize his Hustler nation narrative ahead of next year's highly anticipated Presidential elections.
Ruto is among a host of candidates who have expressed interest in taking over from President Kenyatta when his term comes to an end in 2022. Others in the race include Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, Gideon Moi, and Rueben Kigame.
The Deputy President has been looking for creative ways to strengthen his bid including bringing on board influential individuals with the ability to influence a good amount of voters to back him.
It has now emerged that the Deputy President is yet to give up on Uhuru's support. In fact, fresh Intel has revealed that Ruto has tabled a tempting offer to Uhuru if he can support his 2022 campaigns. Ruto has reportedly offered Uhuru the opportunity to pick several Cabinet Secretaries of his choice if he agrees to back Ruto's bid instead of Raila.
According to a report by the Standard, the Deputy President is planning to use the 2013 arrangement in selecting his Cabinet.
Back in 2013 the President and his Deputy agreed to share the cabinet slots equally.
