Deputy President might square it out with a candidate from the Mount Kenya region in the next general election. This is after reports from a section of Mount Kenya leaders indicate that they are planning to field a single candidate in the run-up to 2022 when the nation will be headed to the next general election.
Although Ruto enjoys massive support from the said region, this latest development could come as some sad news to him since in 2017 he expected to be supported by the head of state who vowed to be the chief campaigner in his 2022 bid. This however might not happen after they fell apart.
