There will be no Kenya Kwanza Alliance rally in Busia County that was scheduled for Thursday, May 26. This is after Deputy President William Ruto suspended it to avoid clashing with Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition party presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
Speaking to the press on Wednesday, May 25, United Democratic Alliance (UDA) National Vice-Treasurer Mary Emase confirmed the incident saying that Raila was also scheduled to hold a rally in neighbouring Amukura while DP Ruto was supposed to be at Simba Chai.
"We cannot hold that rally because they want to interfere with our programmes, that amounts to disturbance. They knew very well that our rally was in Simba Chai and they went ahead to organise theirs in Amukura which is very close," she stated as quoted by a local media.
She further stated that the rally was rescheduled to Friday, but tentatively maintained that it may be called off altogether.
