The Homabay Town constituency lawmaker Hon Peter Kaluma, who was elected with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party. The party which is associated with the former prime minister and also the Azimio coalition leader Hon Raila Odinga. Has gained popularity across the country after proposing a bill in the parliament to create a policy that will deal with homosexuality people.

The purpose of the bill is to create a policy that will ensure they do away with the the issue of homosexuality which has been a major threat in the society.
The proposal of the Homabay Town constituency lawmaker has been support by lawmakers from both alliances, above all the speaker of the National Assembly Hon Moses Wetangula has also come out boldly to support the bill claiming that they will oppose the rulling of the supreme court concerning their stand on homosexuality issues.
Today, the COTU secretary Hon Francis Atwoli also supported the bill by opposing the act of homosexuality.
