Kalonzo's decision to quit from Kenya Kwanza has been the main topic for may news outlets in the country. Kalonzo decided to abandon Raila after he chose Martha Karua as his running mate instead of him. This annoyed Kalonzo who decided to vie for presidency as an independent candidate. However, the window to register for the position had been closed and Kalonzo can not leave Azimio.
While in a rally at Mwingi on Friday, deputy president William Ruto invited Kalonzo to join his camp so that together they can form a government after he wins the elections. He even went ahead to promise Kalonzo a position in his government if he wins the elections.
"Si amemtesa ya kutosha? Sasa nyinyi watu wa mwingi si tuunde hii serikali pamoja. Na nikipanga hii serikali si niweke nafasi ya Kalonzo Musyoka hapo. Ndio tuweze kupanda pamoja?" Ruto told the people of Mwingi.
Azimio has given Kalonzo an ultimatum of 12 days to make his decision if he will join Azimio or not. Kenyans are now waiting to see if he will join Azimio or Ruto's camp and take the position promised by Ruto.
