ODM Party Chief Principal Hon Raila Odinga's latest pronouncement about the power that will be vested in Martha Karua's hands if they win the August presidential election has raised questions among legal minds across the nation further leaving them (lawyers) at crossroads.
The Azimio la Umoja Presidential hopeful Raila Odinga while naming Martha Karua as his running mate on Monday further informed the public that because Karua is well conversant with legal matters, she will not only be the Deputy President of Kenya but as well the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and constitutional affairs.
Lawyers in the country have however wondered how the above will happen noting that the 2010 constitution restricts the deputy president to hold a public office.
According to a number of legal minds that spoke with KTN News television on Tuesday, Raila Odinga's pronouncement might take time to be effected and that will be through amending the constitution.
Other lawyers have expressed their minds revealing that it will be a hard nut to crack for them (lawyers) in Raila Odinga wins the August presidential elections.
