Mike Mbuvi Sonko Nairobi County ex governor was impeached from that position after he was involved in a case that accused him of poor resource management of the county. This called for his impeachment therefore he was forced to move out of the office.
Following this issue, Sonko was supposed to be replaced by his deputy Ann Kananu. From that time he has been placing blames on the deep states claiming that they are the cause of his political battles.
However, the replacement process was delayed for some time up to now after Sonko filed a case against her taking the office. Therefore today the Supreme court has announced that Ann Kananu shouldn't be sworn in after Sonko filed another appeal to stop that process. This was after the High Court judges refused to accept Sonko's application.
"There is only one possible scenario that could emerge if the orders sought are not granted. I will lose forever my opportunity to complete my constitutional gubernatorial term if my appeal succeeds," said Sonko
He maintained the stand that Ann's appointment was unlawful and shouldn't be allowed to resume the office.
