Mizani Africa has on Saturday afternoon released the results of their opinion polls carried out among the residents of West Pokot County. The latest polls on the Gubernatorial seat are hotly contested between incumbent Governor John Lonyangapuo and Simon Kachapin. Polls show that Lonyangapuo is leading with 52.6% followed by his immediate rival with 41.7%, then Nicholas Owon comes 3rd position with 3.2%. The same polls have shown that 2.5% of the residents are undecided on the candidate they preferred on the ballot day.
Gubernatorial aspirant Kachapin seeks to succeed Lonyangapuo as the next governor in the forthcoming general elections. Governor Lonyangapuo is allied with Azimio la Umoja One Kenya alliance. The polls, therefore, have a positive show on the ground support for the Azimio formation.
