The Kericho County Assembly speaker has been summoned by the United Democratic Alliance movement Party over the chaos that were experienced at the County Assembly two days ago.

Speaker Patrick Mutai has been summoned to appear before the UDA Disciplinary Committee through a letter by the chairperson of the committee chair Charles Njenga who directed Mutai to appear before the panel on January 20.

"Accordingly, and pursuant to the provisions of Article 29(iv)(v)(vi) and (vii) of the Constitution of UDA, you are hereby summoned to appear before the Disciplinary Committee on the 20th of January 2023 at 9am at the Hustler Plaza,4th Floor, Board Room for the hearing of the complaint against you," Njenga said.

His summoning comes to the limelight hours after His Excellency the Head of State president William Ruto expressed disappointment in the way that the Kericho County Assembly members behaved on Friday.

President William Ruto lost his temper during a thanksgiving event in Bomet County on Sunday, January 15, calling out on the Members of the County Assembly (MCAs).

A visibly angry Ruto summoned read riot act to the legislators from Kericho County for being obsessed and fighting power instead of driving a development agenda for the people.
