Ruto & OKA Betrayed Last Minute As Mt Kenya Unity Forum Principal Denies An Alliance With UDA & OKA

The season of betrayal and emergence of new coalition has hit the corridors of Kenyan politics as the popular and influential leaders have started aligning themselves ahead of 9th August election.

The presidential hopeful Justin Muturi who doubles as the Speaker of the National Assembly toughly dismissed claims that he had struck political deals with One Kenya Alliance (OKA) chief partners and Deputy President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) on coalition negotiations ahead of next general election.

Speaking after the National Executive Counci Meeting by the Democratic Party, Justin Muturi stressed that the political coalitions and alliances are ratified by the party and not an individual regardless of whatever the position he/she holds in the party.

"The decision of me engaging other parties in coalition talks can only be made by the top decision making organ of Democratic Party. I cannot make that decision as an individual regardless of my party position" he said.

Muturi, Mt Kenya Unity Forum Principal, revealed that the recent various meetings with One Kenya Alliance principals did not feature the agenda of forming a coalition ahead of next general election.

"They visited me as long time political friends to tell me sorry and wish me quick recovery. Rumours are just that, rumours. Those who respect democracy must wait for the concurrence from the party and in essence the relevant organs of the party" he added.

However, he affirmed that Democratic party is open to engage in coalition agreements with other like-minded parties in the attempts of forming a formidable alliance that will secure the presidency.

"I have not mentioned either Azimio or DP Ruto's UDA. I am not at liberty to talk about the two at this juncture. What I know is that the party will work with other like-minded parties that are ready to deliver the very best for this country" Muturi refuted coalition talks with DP Ruto's UDA and Raila's Azimio la Umoja.

He informed that Democratic Party will hold its National Delegates Conference (NDC) in the course of February 2022.
