The ANC party leader decided to join Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate and support him to the highest office of the republic. The senator also alleges that it was followed with him allowing the incumbent senator Malala to vie for the gubernatorial seat in the county. However, Boni Khalwale now claims that the solid reason behind this two was to make sure that the people of Western region can not be locked out of power.
On Twitter, the former senator Khalwale wrote this. "Happily, Hon Mudavadi stepped down for WSR from the presidential race & I unconditionally allowed Sen Malala to vie for Governor of Kakamega for the single reason that the people of Western cannot afford to be locked out of government for one more time ."
