The 2022 presidential elections are just around the corner with several candidates expressing interest in taking over from President Kenyatta when his term comes to an end in the next few months.

The leading candidates in the race are expected to come from either of the two coalitions in Azimio la Umoja Coalition or Kenya Kwanza alliance. This has resulted in alot of competition for party tickets.

During the formation of the Azimio Coalition, the bigger parties promised to allow other parties to fill candidates without the need to zone the country.

However, the coalition has now revealed that they will be zoning out the country to avoid losing key seats. One of the Principles has told the daily nation that it's unfortunate that they decided to change the rule of the game after the deadline for registration of political parties had elapsed. He termed the move as unfair and vowed to resist it.

"It is unfortunate that we are being told this when the March 26 deadline for joining parties has elapsed and we already registered aspirants for various seats. The question now is, where will we take our aspirants if particular regions are reserved for particular parties?" posed the leader

The zoning issue is likely to explode in the next few days.

Meanwhile, share with us your thoughts on the matter kindly.
