The united democratic alliance (UDA) of president William Ruto is set to hold primaries in Kandara constituency to replace ministry of water cabinet secretary Alice Wahome who previously served as the member of the national assembly for the region.
The same is happening in Elgeyo Marakwet county where the giant national party is seeking to find someone to fit in the big shoes of ministry of Transport cabinet secretary Kipchumba Murkomen who previously served as the area senator.
According to a senior official from UDA party who requested anonymity to be able to speak freely, around twenty aspirants will be going to battle out on Saturday this week to find the suitable people to replace the two former lawmakers who joined the executive.
“20 aspirants will be taking part in the nominations (Kandara constituency and Elgeyo Marakwet county). The exercise will take place in all the polling stations and so far we are happy, as a team, to note that the aspirants have run their campaigns peacefully," the official disclosed.
The two areas are strongholds of the UDA party and whoever wins the nomination gets a boost and is perceived to have higher chances of clinching the seat.
