Big Boost To Kenya Kwanza Camp As Another Top Leader Joins

This comes after Monicah Muthoni Marubu, the representative for Lamu who was elected as a woman, joined forces with the UDA chief.

On Wednesday night, she arrived to the camp, escorted by other leaders.

Just one day prior, Ruto also received other elected independent candidates from the Mt. Kenya region.

Ruto's victory came just after the IEBC named him the nation's next president, giving him the upper hand in the legislature.

"Greetings from Kenya, Kwanza Lamu County's female representative is Monicah Muthoni Marubu. Let's help our community." Reads Ruto's post.

It is believed that Ruto made the decision to run as an independent in order to increase his representation in Parliament.

It is unknown if President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, both members of the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance and partners in the handshake agreement, have spoken since the election.
