Kenya Kwańza Alliance's government led by President William Samoei Ruto is barely three months in office. Ruto ascended to the leadership helm at a time when the country is overwhelmed with external debate as well as tough economic times.
The Head of State and his newly-formed Government has been swift to effect immediate mechanisms that would see hunger and drought in the country partially being mitigated. Among the measures is the deliberate move to import Genetically Modified Organism(GMO) maize as a way of cushioning Kenyans against the tough times.
The move has however received vehement opposition with a section of Kenyans including Kenya Kwańza Starlwarts firing salvo and heaping blame on Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria.
To further fuel the state of things, Pokot South MP, David Pkosing has now declared that Members of Parliament should collect signatures from tommorow (Wednesday) seeking to impeach Trade CS Moses Kuria over decision to allow importation of GM maize into the country.
Should the move get the nod of the house and see the light of the day, then Moses Kuria would become the first Cabinet Secretary to be impeached barely few weeks after being sworn into office.
