After successful vetting and passing to be the Speaker of the National Assembly, Senator Moses Wetangula had to quit from his Bungoma Senate position and take a new role in the Kenya Kwanza Alliance government. After his withdrawal the position would not be left empty and so by elections have to be conducted to get a new senator in that land.
Speaker Moses Wetangula, despite having a job in the government courtesy of the United Democratic Alliance party, he has decided not to support UDA party candidate in Bungoma senatorial seat. According to what was gazetted by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission in the Kenya gazette, a total of 7 candidates were gazetted. They included a member from UDA party, a member from Ford Kenya party and others including independent candidates.
Wetangula has now revealed that he will traverse around the Bungoma county together with the Prime Cabinet Secretary, Musalia Mudavadi, to campaign for the Lion's party candidate which is the Ford Kenya party whose boss is Speaker Moses Wetangula. This shows that there are some divisions between the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
Should Wetangula remain silent despite the fact that his party has a candidate? President Ruto's party also has a candidate but Wetangula is in the government through the Kenya Kwanza government.https://www.facebook.com/960549524105124/posts/pfbid0eVyk9mqLM913R3tRy6RVf31gUnSQmiYKrFLLr5RFTuhecCpumUhuqACJsUpaidFAl/?app=fbl
