China asserts that its citizens have the freedom to engage in any type of business in Kenya without fear of blackmail or company closure. China has requested the immediate return of the goods that the government took from China Square.
China is explicit that for diplomatic purposes, Kenya must adhere to international norms. The nation is horrified that Kenya, a nation that owes them a lot of money in debt, has the gall to shut down China Square.
The Kenyan government has been forewarned by Wu Peng that they will lament it deeply if they discriminate against Chinese businesses.
China has made it abundantly obvious that the problems surrounding the closure of China Square can only arise if the owner has not complied with all legal requirements.
China has made it clear that if Kenya's people receive poor treatment from the government, China may decide to demand repayment of their debts as well as impose sanctions.
