On Sunday, four governors from Western Region among other leaders appointed Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli as the Mulembe Community negotiator ahead of the general elections.
The leaders led by Kakamega's Wycliffe Oparanya, Bungoma's Wycliffe Wangamati, Vihiga's Wilbor Ottichilo and Busia's Sospeter Ojaamong settled on Atwoli as their coordinator, as they plan to engage the presidential aspirants eyeing the community's support.
The leaders have been opposing ANC's Musalia Mudavadi's presidential bid, calling him to abandon the interest and support the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
Speaking at Lions Primary School grounds on Sunday during the official launch of The Cleo Malalah Super Cup tournament 4th edition, Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala dismissed the meeting stating that Mudavadi will remain to be the community's negotiator since he is a presidential candidate.
"We are not in the business of negotiating, we are in the business of looking for presidency. If you are not a presidential candidate do not place yourself as a strategic negotiator on behalf of our community. We are behind Mudavadi, and we will not allow you to play around with the unity of the Luhya Community," said Malala.
