President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) argues why Juliana Cherera should not have resigned as the Vice-chairperson of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Juliana Cherera on Monday writes to President William Ruto notifying him about her resignation. Juliana Cherera thanked the President for allowing her to serve in the Republic but she claimed that her upright stand was misjudged.
She insisted that she stood for truth and Justice but false allegations were used against her. Perhaps, Juliana Cherera along with the other three commissioners including Justus Nyang’aya, Wanderi, and Irene Masit are accused of abusing office and violating the Constitution.
The Head of State gazetted the tribunal going to interrogate the four commissioners and seek truth and facts behind the allegations.
Consequently, Kimilili Member of United Democratic Alliance member of Parliament Didymus Barasa questions her resignation claiming that if she surely had done the right thing, she should not have resigned.
He said that her resignation indicates that she was not on the right track.
