The 58th Madaraka day celebrations were held at the Jomo Kenyatta international stadium where various dignitaries joined to celebrate the big day.
Entertainment was at high before various leaders took to the podium to deliver their various speeches.
Deputy President William Ruto who has always been lauded for his vision and ambitions, took to the podium and acknowledged all the development President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Government has delivered to the country.
His humility was clear when he congratulated President Uhuru Kenyatta for reopening major sectors in Kisumu as well as he promised for more.
DP William Ruto was quoted saying: "I want to laud the President's two days launch of various projects in this county and this region.
It is a testimony that there is a Government that delivers and works." His speech drew praise from Kenyans who believe that he is the God sent leader.
