The 2022 campaigns are officially on going as the politicians are now busy hunting for votes from all corners of the country ahead of the general elections
The State House race on the other hand is not left behind as the ODM party leader Raila Amollo Odinga and Deputy President William Samoei Ruto appear to be the top contenders for the forthcoming presidency race.
However, Hon Raila Odinga, the leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), attended a burial service in Nyeri for the mother of Nyeri Deputy Governor Caroline Wanjiru Karugu, ahead of his Murang'a Azimio La Umoja Chapter tomorrow.
Raila chose to greet the Karatina people after expressing his sympathies to the departed family. However, the ODM leader was dealt a major setback when pro-Ruto chanting filled the air at his roadside rally.
As Raila convoy passed by, eager and passionate youths were seen on camera yelling "Ruto, Ruto, UDA," according to a video clip of Raila's roadside rally in Karatina.
Despite Raila's tight relationship with incumbent Head of State President Uhuru Kenyatta, who has been rallying support for the Handshake Alliance among Mount Kenya locals, this is a clear sign that Ruto's political might and influence in the region is still at its pinnacle.
Some Kenyans, however, who identified with his Azimio La Umoja Movement, turned out in large numbers to hear his manifestos.
