Raphael Wanjala, a member of parliament for the Budalangi constituency claimed that even Kenyans had not predicted William Ruto's victory, hence the country had never congratulated him on his victory.
In an interview with Kenya Kwanza's rival James Gakuya for NTV, this assertion was made.
Further, he said that only Nyeri and Eldoret celebrated Raila Odinga's defeat in the presidential election, drawing a contrast between the outcome and the vacant seats on Madaraka Day in Nairobi.
According to reports, he remarked that everyone in Kenya ignored Ruto's triumph, with the exception of Nyeri and Eldoret. The seats in Nairobi were empty on the first day of Madaraka.
Additionally, Wanjala defended Raila Odinga in regard to the tax statement, claiming that he wanted people to misinterpret him and believe he was advocating for the government to neglect areas that didn't support them.
Additionally, he acknowledged that Kenya Kwanza did not win the presidency in a manner that complied with the Constitution.
The challenger to Raila Odinga, Gakuya of Ruto's Kenya Kwanza, asserted that Raila Odinga had been trounced ten to one and even knew it before leaving for Bomas.
