Mama Ngina Kenyatta Reunites With Ex-Rival In Cultural Ceremony, Shaves Her Dreadlocks (VIDEO)

Former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta reunited with her ex-rival Field Marshall Muthoni in a historic colorful cultural ceremony that was attended by Mau Mau veterans and a council of elders.

The ceremony took place at Field Marshall Muthoni's home with media reports indicating that it was a symbol of Mama Ngina finally settling her differences with Muthoni.

Kikuyu council of elders Wachira Kiago was the organizer of the one-of-a-kind event that saw Mama Ngina Kenyatta accompanied to the ceremony by the chair of the women league Agnes Kagure.

"First and foremost, they didn't have differences between them. In the case of the dreadlocks, she had stayed with it (for over 60 years) over the fact that freedom is not yet over according to her. She, however, requested Mama Ngina to cut the hair for what President Uhuru Kenyatta has done to this country," he noted.

Kiago stated that the shaving of Field Marshall's dreadlocks was a symbol of an end of an era that symbolized that freedom is actualized decades after independence.
