Through a special interview with the Daily Nation newspaper, she has revealed that despite the rising politic temperatures fuelled by their respective spouses, she still has a cordial relationship with Mama Rachel Ruto.
According to her, she knows that the rising political temperatures could create a tense moment for the two of them but still holds that she holds the second lady with a lot of respect.
However, she noted that she is more close to the First Lady Mama Margaret Kenyatta and that they constantly communicate as their spouses are now in good terms and even work together.
"With Margaret, we are easy but for Rachel, I know with the current political fight between the DP and the former Prime Minister, she may not be comfortable. However, Kenyans should know that politics is not enmity."Mama Ida Odinga noted.
She has also noted that although they are friends, they rarely meet saying that she does not need permission from anyone to meet anybody in the country.
"I do not need permission from anyone to engage anybody. I know Rachel we would be easy but her spouse may not like it for obvious reasons."Mama Ida Odinga noted.
