As the succession politics is intensified and heightened in the country, the Deputy President William Ruto is determined to occupy the house on the hill after next year's general elections on August 9. To be sure of his bid, Ruto has continued to tour various places across the country to get in touch with the voters and leaders at grassroot level such as Members of Parliament and MCAs.
After spending his weekend in vote rich regions of Western and Mount Kenya, DP Ruto on Monday spent the better part of the day in Kajiado County. The Maa speaking region is believed to be ODM's 'bedroom'. However, Ruto's entrance into the region with his UDA party and Bottom Up economic model approach would turn the table.
In his evening tweet DP Ruto acknowledged the local leaders who accompanied his motorcade; Kajiado South MP Katoo Ole Metito. This has sparked off mixed reactions as there was only one local leader who offered his company. In their claims, Kenyans told DP Ruto that the region is preserved for the ODM leader Raila Odinga and they could not afford to betray him.
