The irate County Assembly members, led by Nelson Munga, MCA for Ndeiya Ward, accused the UDA party's Secretary General of meddling in their affairs by imposing its leadership on them and alleging that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was complicit in the scheme by forcing them to elect an unpopular candidate.
Speaking to the media at the County Assembly facilities, they pleaded with President William Ruto to restrain party leaders determined to stifle democracy inside the party. They were responding to two letters from the Sectetary General dated September 26 and 27, 2022, which said that the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party had duly nominated the leadership of the House.
