The race to succeed the retiring incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta continues to be tight as other presidential hopefuls publicly decided to change tune for the sake of either Deputy President Dr William Samoei Arap Ruto and the Orange Democratic Movement party leader Hon Raila Amolo Odinga. The two leaders have established themselves as the main contenders in the fourth coming general elections to be held in August this year.
Hon Raila Amolo Odinga has received a big boost from the Eastern Region of Kenya. This comes as presidential hopeful, Makueni County Governor Kivutha Kibwana decided to publicly shelve his presidential bid so as to support Hon Raila Amolo Odinga. The incumbent Governor said that he will resume his presidential ambitions in future.
"Governor Kivutha Kibwana: I consulted my people in Makueni and they gave me the go-ahead to support Azimio la Umoja. They told me that I have age on my side and will resume my presidential ambitions in future." Tweeted by NTV News Kenya
