Transnzoia Residents Protest Alleging Land Grabbing From Cartels Decry to County GOVTs Intervention

Residents of the Maridadi area in the Kwanza Constituency in Transnzoia are protesting what they term as perennial grabbing of public land in the area.

The residents accused some powerful people of colluding with the ministry of land officials to allocate themselves public utility land.

They call on leaders in the area to fight the cartels targeting public land in the area governor George natembeya assured residents that his government is set to roll out forensic audits aimed at repossessing lands encroached by owned by private developers.

"There are Surveyors who come here and claim they are coming to measure the land that belongs to the government and they are selling it to the residents of these areas. Therefore, I request our Governor together with the County government to call a meeting to see who is selling public lands in these areas," claimed the residents.

"We are stunned today, to see people coming here to sell the government's property. We have five weeks since our cattlle were vaccinated because there are stakeholders who have fenced the cattle Dip," said the area resident.

"We will not allow our cattle to die because of personal gain. Next week, we will visit the Governor's office," decried the resident.
