What Uhuru Said When He Got Tired Reading His Long Speech That Sent Leaders Into Laughter

President Uhuru Kenyatta

The president of the republic of Kenya Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta has today addressed both houses in a joint seating.

In his state of the nation address, the president took the opportunity to highlight some of his achievements since he took over power in 2013.

He spoke about accelerating Economic growth whereby the country's GDP has improved by a big mergin since 2013.

He also spoke about drought mitigation measures assuring Kenyans that nobody will die of famine.

On Covid-19, the president urged Kenyans who haven't been Vaccinated to go and get the jab.

In education Uhuru said that school tittling program will continue adding that so far close to 12000 schools have been given titles.

Other achievements include supply of books to schools taking the ratio of books to learners to 1:1. This has helped boost learning and also reduce the cost on the side of parents.

He added that over 107,000 teachers have been employed which has helped reduce the teachers to student ratio hence improving learning.

He promised that the government will invest 26% of national expenditure in education in the next financial year.

Political stabilization

In Political stabilization, the president praised his handshake with ODM leader Raila Odinga which he credited for much of the achievements his government has had.

He however noted that the handshake wasn't the end in itself since there was a need to change the Constitution and expand the executive for inclusivity.

He regretted that efforts to amend the Constitution so as to boost Political stability and improve resource allocation were stopped by the courts.

Uhuru urged leaders coming after him to consider Political stabilization because without that very little will be achieved.

It was at this moment that the president became very tired having stood close to two hours.

Uhuru admitted that he had tried to shorten his speech because he too had become very tired to the bemusement of the MPs and Senators.
