As political players prepare themselves for the 2022 general election, one thing that is for sure is that the person that will convince the central region will surely carry the day. So far there is no strong contender from the central region who has come out publicly to declare his interest in the top seat.
According to the last census, the largest community with the highest number of voters is the Mount Kenya region who overwhelmingly voted for the jubilee administration in 2017. During the said period the relationship between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy was still intact.
However today it is the complete opposite. The two leaders are rivals with each of them trying so hard to convince the central region to vote for them. Although Uhuru has not declared who he will support, one thing that is for sure is that he will not support his deputy William Ruto. So far Mount Kenya is a swing vote region.
