Today President William Ruto was in the coastal region to pay his respects at the funeral of Mzee David Silas Meri, the father of the deputy majority leaders in the National Assembly.

For the people of Mtwapa, the head of state brought a gift basket as he inaugurated the Mtwapa Kwa Kadzengo- Kilifi Road, a 454-kilometer route.
It was clear that President Ruto was dismayed by the damage that drug traffickers had done to the community, especially the youth.
The country is so full that the president has ordered the drug lords to leave.
The president feels bad about the effect that drug dealers have had on the youth of the coastal area, particularly their decision to stop attending school.
He issued a stern order to the local government, demanding that they crack down on the drug's smugglers and beef up security at the country's borders.
