The August general election is fast approaching and politicians are laying out strategies that will guarantee them a place in the next government. Alignments, forging of political parties and forming of alliances are some of the activities that have dominated the political arena.
In an opinion poll that was recently published by one of the dailys, the first term MP was named as the most preferred person to deputize Ruto. The lawmaker has stood with William Ruto through thick and thin.
Mathira MP, Rigathi Gachagua.
In what now seems as grooming the Gachagua family for high office, a number of Ruto allies escorted Rigathi's wife to function in Njoro constituency, Nakuru county.
Nakuru senator Susan Kihika and Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri accompanied Mrs Rigathi to Njoro where she was holding an event which brought together women from the constituency.
Madam Dorcas Rigathi have been holding an annual event where she donates food and other entities to widows. Dorcas who is also a pastor has been doing this for years now.
Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika With Pastor Dorcas Rigathi.
Susan Kihika took the advantage of that event and campaigned for her gubernatorial bid. The senator will be seeking to unseat Lee Kinyanjui in the August polls. She will be vying on a UDA party ticket.
After the event, Kimani Ngunjiri thanked Mrs Gachagua for standing with the less fortunate. He noted that this was a great gesture coming from her.
Politically, this was not just a normal function. Ruto allies accompanying madam Dorcas seems to insinuate that legislators from the hustler nation are ready for Gachagua's leadership.
