ODM party leader Raila Odinga has revealed that they are still together with former President Uhuru Kenyatta. He adds that the ex president has a lot of duties that he has beeb doing, one of them being the peacekeeping mission in Congo. He was only in the country last time when former Education CS George Magoha was being buried.
With Raila announcing of the planned demonstration's set to take place on Monday, a lot of question's have been asked about Uhuru Kenyatta as he is the Chairman of the Azimio council. He has not officially stepped down from party position's (Jubilee leader and Azimio council) like he should have. Lawmakers from the government side Kenya Kwanza have dared Uhuru to pronounce his stand regarding the planned demos. So far he has remained mum.
(Translation: We are together with Uhuru and he has been having a lot of task's in regards to the peace keeping mission in Congo. )
In the planned demonstrations, Raila has promised that it will be peaceful as they had already written a letter to the government. The government agencies have also promised to be on stand by to avert any attempts at destruction of property and or looting. At the same time, Raila said that Monday will be a public holiday, and we wait to see if his supporters will abide by that. He has however denounced claims of a match to Statehouse as it was rumored before.
Also sources have indicated as published on different dailies that Raila was under pressure to go slow on the monday demonstrations, but had remained adamant that it had to go on as planned. For now it's a wait and see. Who will blank first? Will it be Raila or Ruto? And also eyes on Uhuru over his take on the matter.
