Ann Nderitu said that, In accordance with Regulation 22(1) of Political Parties (Registration) Regulations, 2019, and Article 15 (1) of the National Super Alliance (Nasa) Coalition Agreement, the office got entries from ANC, Chama Cha Mashinani, Ford Kenya Party, and Wiper. She said that subsequent to auditing the entries made by the three parties, the Nasa alliance stands dissolved.
Article 15(1) of the Coalition Agreement specifies that the alliance will stand broken down where any three of the alliance parties choose to leave the alliance. This comes following a move taken by three associate parties (ANC, Wiper, Ford-Kenya) trying to break down the alliance after conflicts with the ODM party.
Nasa emerged in January 2017 where leaders including Kalonzo Musyoka's (Wiper), Raila Odinga's (ODM), Musalia Mudavadi's (ANC), and Moses Wetangula's Ford-Kenya came together. There have been conflicts inside the alliance after the last broad political decision. In a letter dated August 26 and kept in touch with the heads of the four constituent parties that framed the alliance, the Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu informed them that the alliance has been authoritatively broken down.
