These politicians reacted angrily to Vice President Rigathi Gachagua's last-minute decision to defect from President William Ruto's Kwanzaa and join former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his Azimio One Kenya alliance.

Rigathi Gachagua. President William Ruto and Kenya Kwanza said "the faithful will be rewarded first."
DP Gachagua's announcement was made to leaders who left the Azimio One Kenya alliance after he was elected president, including William Ruto, Kivutha Kibwana of the Muungano Party, and Kiraitu, the former governor of Meru and leader of the DEP party.
Other leaders and parties affiliated to Azimio have joined Kenya Kwanza despite opposition from Odinga’s camp, they include MPs William Kamket (Tiaty), MDG party leader, David Ochieng (Ugenya), former Makueni Governor Kivutha and Senator Ali Roba’s UDM party.
