"The Governor Had Promised to Pay Us For Chanting Raila's Name" Kirinyaga Residents Claim

A dramatic scene unfolded on Sunday night at Kutus town in Kirinyaga county after a group of Bodaboda operators accused Laikipia governor, Ndiritu Muriithi, for lying to them.

According to the riders, the Laikipia governor had promised to pay them for chanting pro Raila Odinga slogans and also for escorting his entourage during his Sunday visit in Kirinyaga.

However, even after they did all this job, Ndiritu Muriithi did not honor his part of the agreement. The operators were left without a penny despite them wasting a whole day escorting the governor.

The angry youth went ahead to say that the reality on the ground is that Ruto enjoys a huge support. They added that Kieleweke politicians have been paying people to attend their rallies to show the world that Raila Odinga has support from the region.

"We are very angry and bitter that Laikipia governor decided to shortchange us. It is the high time that the country knows how Kieleweke operates. They have been paying crowds to attend their rallies to deceive the nation that Raila Odinga has support from Mt Kenya region. We are strongly behind William Ruto and we always attend his rallies for free without being paid a penny. Ndiritu Muriithi should stick to Laikipia and sell Raila there. Kirinyaga ni Ruto." Alluded the angry youth. Click here to watch video.

The Laikipia governor worshipped at ACK church of the Good Samaritan, Difathas, Kirinyaga county on Sunday, October 3rd. He asked the residents to unite ahead of the 2022 election.

Ndiritu Muriithi hosted Raila Odinga in Nanyuki, Laikipia county last Sunday (26th September). He then led a convoy of other leaders in touring Odinga through various counties within the Mt Kenya region. He is among the leaders who have publicly endorsed Odinga for the top seat in 2022.

Some insider reports also indicate that Ndiritu Muriithi is among the Mt Kenya leaders who are aiming at deputizing Raila in 2022. This might be the reason why Muriithi has started to tour other counties within the region.
