Outspoken city lawyer Wahome Thuku has pleaded with Kenyans not to elect Deputy President William Ruto during next year's general election.

In a Facebook post on Monday night, he said those who will vote for the DP will do the country a great harm, saying Kenyans of goodwill should back any other candidate but not Ruto.
Without giving reasons why voters should reject the second-in-command, the lawyer who is allied to Kieleweke said there are many other Kenyans of very high integrity and calibre who deserve the seat more than Ruto.

Thuku said even though some people claim President Kenyatta has damaged the country's economy since he rose to power in 2013, his deputy will ruin it more.
"WE all disagree on whether Uhuru Kenyatta has developed or ruined this country. That's fine. But we we all agree that out of all the presidential aspirants and hopefuls, only one can ruin it beyond where it is," he posted.
