Why Ruto's ally Kapondi is being attacked by Musalia, Wetangula

The August presidential election is perceived to be a two horse race between UDA leader William Ruto and ODM partt leader leader Raila Odinga.

Mt Elgon MP Fred Kapondi has come under scathing attack from ANC party and Ford Kenya party for allegedly backing an Azimio la Umoja governor candidate Wycliffe Wangamati.

Wangamati is vying for gubernatorial seat under DAP- K party which is under Azimio.

Senator Moses Wetangula has rubbished Kapondi's decision to back Wangamati urging that all seats should go to Kenya Kwanza allies.

" There is no way you will say we vote Azimio down and at the top vote Ruto," Wetangula has said.

Cracks in Ruto's camp has continued to seen in Western region. Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala earlier told Ruto's not to field UDA candidates in ANC bedrooms.

Ruto nominated MP Rigathi Gachagua to bring on board votes from Mt Kenya region. Musalia and Wetangula promised to secure 70 per cent of Luhya votes to Ruto's basket.
