While coming from St. Denis Kenyenya Catholic Church in Bomachoge Borabu constituency of Kisii county where he had joined its congregants for a Sunday service in his tour to Kisii county today on October 3rd, Deputy President William Ruto made a brief stop at Kanyenya town to address its residents, popularize his UDA party and sell his 2022 Presidential bid.
The DP who was being hosted in Kisii county by the South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro, Deputy Governor Joash Maangi and other leaders from Gusii land or rather South Nyanza attracted a mammoth crowd at the town as thousands converged around his motorcade to listen to them.
Their address went on smoothly from start to finish with the charged crowd
Before leaving town, the DP did what he's known for, that's giving and this time the beneficiaries of his "generous" heart were bodaboda riders and "mama mbogas" of the town who are perhaps his favourite type of "hustlers".
The DP announced that he had promised to surprise those hustlers with something small in his visit and thus had carried some money to boost their hustles.
"Where is that guy representing bodaboda people? I was told that there are bodaboda people here. Come here. Yes, I have given the bodaboda people petrol ya shilingi elfu mia moja. Wewe pambana na hali yako.
Na wale kina mama, ndio hii shilingi nusu milioni yenu for you to boost your businesses," he said as he gave out the money eliciting excitement.
The DP used his address to tell the people of Kanyenya that "it's the responsibility of the Government to make sure that there are policies and programs to give the youth opportunities for them develop themselves as well as create jobs for them."
That "it's also the responsibility of citizens to make sure that they elect a Government or a person who will form a Government that'll have it's priorities right."
