Nairobi gubernatorial race has heated up. Influential leaders from the county are joining the gubernatorial race. On Monday this week, Westlands legislator Timothy Wanyonyi officially announced his Nairobi gubernatorial bid at KICC buildings.
Today the second term legislator has intensified his gubernatorial campaigns and hosted all ODM MCAs from Nairobi county. Revealing this information on his official Facebook page, Mr. Timothy Wanyonyi said that they had resolved to form a united front with the ODM MCAs.
Mr. Timothy Wanyonyi has been in politics for a long time. He first began as a city council councillor before vying for Westlands parliamentary seat on a ODM ticket. He won the seat and successful defended his seat again in 2017 on a ODM ticket.
The Westlands legislator will be competing for ODM ticket with other senior ODM leaders who have also declared their gubernatorial bids. His main competitor in ODM is Margaret legislator George Aladwa who is also ODM party chairman in Nairobi county.
ODM preferred gubernatorial candidate will compete with other candidates who have also declared their bids. They include current Nairobi governor Anne Kananu, Nairobi senator Johnson Sakaja, former Starehe legislator Bishop Margret Wanjiku and business lady Agnes Kagure.
