President Uhuru Kenyatta's succession is the current big headache in Kenya as his deputy William Ruto and his opposition handshake friend hon. Raila Odinga are the top leaders eyeing for the 2022 presidential race. President Uhuru Kenyatta and Dp William Ruto have been together for many years. Despite their clash, Uhuru and Ruto had promised each other 10 years of reign.
Now that President Uhuru has finished his 10 years, however, He's supporting Raila Odinga in this coming election and not Ruto as they had planned during their 2013 and 2017 campaigns. Uhuru has turned against Ruto alleging that he is not fit to lead hence shouldn't be voted in.
"When I said “kumi kwangu kumi Kwa William Ruto ” I didn't say this for my sake but for the nation. The reason why I reneged on my commitment was due to the realization that Ruto’s presidency would be a setback to this nation," he said.
He has however, admitted that Ruto is a sharp minded person but alleged that people shouldn't allow him to deceive them.
He went on to admit that he promised to support Ruto his support so that he succeeds him as head of state but that after realizing that Ruto's presidency allegedly won't be good for the country, he changed his mind.
