Deputy President William Ruto has been busy moving from one part of the country to another to build his own political bridges.
Ruto was promising that Jubilee will finish tarmacking roads in the area and he forgot where he was as he struggled to remember the name where he was holding his rally.
“We will finish building the roads, tunaelewana watu waaaa” said DP Ruto as he paused for a moment trying to remember the name of the area.
DP Ruto continued by saying “Hapa Kitui West (Here in Kitui West)” before the crowd quickly corrected him as they shouted “Kibwezi West”.
The second in command also shared a light moment during his speech as he talked about how Jubilee did not manage to get votes in Makueni County.
Ruto blamed himself saying he did not campaign in Makueni in the previous General Election and that is why Raila Odinga’s ODM party managed to beat them in Makueni.
DP Ruto excited the crowd as he said a Bible verse revealing he was ready to work with the people of Makueni adding that he wants them to join his team so they can build the next government together.
“Let us build the next government together. I know the people of Makuni believe in God and in the book of Amos it says two people cannot walk together unless they meet. So I have come this early so we can agree,” said Ruto.
“I have to apologize because in 2013 I didn’t come here and that is why you were taken to Tibim (Raila). That was my fault. If I had come early maybe the results would have been different,” said Ruto amid laughter from the crowd.
