Former vice president Kalonzo Musyoka has now called for all church leaders not to categorise all politicians as sinners days after archbishop of Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Jackson Ole Sapita banned politicians from speaking politics in church.
"Do not categorise politicians as sinners because we are all sinners before the lord. Personally I am chief among sinners but saved by the grace of God, " said Kalonzo while speaking to the nation.
Ole Sapita had made it clear in Butere that the politicians who were present at the event were only allowed to talk to the gathering after the end of the service. This saw some politicians such Musalia Mudavadi leaving the event while ODM leader Raila Odinga was patient enough to wait until the end of the service.
As 2022 general elections nears, more politicians have now been going to church to market their political agenda. DP William Ruto is seen as the most popular politician who has benefited alot from attending to churches, donating in church fundraising and so forth.
This has seen other politicians such as Kalonzo Musyoka, Raila Odinga and Musalia Mudavadi also joining Ruto in church to advance their political agendas, something that has not gone well with the church leaders who now accuse the politicians of ruining their normal church sessions.
