Updates: CS Alfred Mutua Meets a Foreign President During a Top Event on Thursday

The Cabinet Secretary in charge of the Ministry of Foreign and diaspora Affairs CS Dr Alfred Mutua is currently out of the country.

He has disclosed that he on Thursday morning met with His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Abdelrahman Burhan who is the president of Sudan.

He also met with the Foreign Minister Colleagues from different nations where they will be discussing the resolutions of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) meeting on Sudan.

He has noted that on behalf of Kenya, he offered to request the Africa Union to send a Fact Finding Mission to Sudan to evaluate the current political and social situation and to engage the leadership and opposition with a view of lifting Sanctions that are hurting majority of people in the country.

He is attending the 48th Ordinary Session of the IGAD Council of Ministers which is taking place in Khartoum under the Chairmanship of the Republic of Sudan.

Session of IGAD Council Of Ministers started at Corinthia Hotel in Khartoum this morning, with the participation of all IGAD countries, the US ambassador to Sudan, the Italian ambassador in Khartoum and the representative of the European Union.

The chairman of the current session, Foreign Minister Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq pointed to Sudan's concern with the situations of the countries of the region.
