Prof Makau Mutua has been Ruto's biggest critic, citing his shortcomings as the deputy president of Kenya.
The professor is a staunch supporter of Raila Odinga and that shows the rivalry between him and Ruto's UDA.
The second in command is one of the most eloquent public speakers in the country and finds it easily to connect to the people even if he's making false promises.
Makau Mutua says he feels like slapping DP Ruto everytime he sees him in public speaking and complaining on the shortcomings of the government he's part of .
"I get a very strong urge to SLAP @WilliamsRuto every time I see him speaking." Prof Makau Mutua
DP Ruto and his allies have shifted the blame to Raila's side for the failures of the Jubilee governments, claiming things were better under UhuRuto before president Uhuru decided to shake hands with Raila Odinga.
Things will get more interesting as the two sides continue to intensify their campaigns to win the presidency in the coming weeks.
