Former Nairobi county governor Mike Sonko has tonight come out to defend his party boss Kalonzo over rigging claims by the outgoing Makueni county governor Kibutha Kibwana who alleged that the elections in the county were compromised.
Sonko asks Kibwana to have some respect for Kalonzo claiming that he isn't stupid to sacrifice his nomination for a cabinet secretary to him.
"With due respect, Mr. Prof. Your time is up just have some little respect for SKM. Ukiona I have even gone to an extent of sacrificing my nominee for CS position to him mimi sio mjinga," he lamented.
All this comes barely hours after Wiper's Kilonzo Mutula junior was declared the winner in the Makueni gubernatorial race in the just concluded general elections.
Before Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) barring Sonko from vying any elective seat, the ex-governor was set to run for Mombasa county governor position under wiper party.
